Video and Photos of ROCK’s June Launch

ROCK’s June launch featured a modest turn out,  but a full day of flying.

I flew my new DJI Phantom 3 quadcopter to record the event from the sky. The video above also contains some of the still images Bracha and I took.  You can see more of the photographs in the RocketReviews photo album at http://www.rocketreviews.com/june-2015-launch.html.

June ROCK Launch

ROCK’s December Launch Photos and Video

December, 2014, ROCK LaunchROCK held its last launch of 2014 on December 6.  The light winds and moderate temperature made for a great day to fly. The countdown reached zero and a rocket soared skyward more than eighty times during the day.

I’ve uploaded the photos Bracha and I took of the launch to a Photo Album at RocketReviews.com.  Below is a video I created using some of the photos and footage captured from my quadcopter.

NEFAR’s Bunnell Blast 2014!

Bunnell Blast 2014!NEFAR hosted it’s annual two-day Bunnell Blast launch on November 8 and 9, 2014.  Canopies, cars, and trucks covered the full length of the north edge of the launch site and extended around the eastern edge.

Chris Michielsson debuted his latest odd-rock creation, the Spudnik which he flew, though “flew” might not be the right word, on an A10-3T motor.

The overcast skies on Saturday provided a dramatic backdrop for the high-power launches, especially the ones flying on “sparky” motors.

The rocket above lifted off powered by two J motors with dark smoke then airstarted two sparky J motors.

The forecast for Sunday was dreary, but the day actually turned out nice.  The light rain ended before 11 and the sun peeked out between the clouds a few times.

You can see additional still photos taken at Bunnell Blast by Bracha and myself in the RocketReviews.com NEFAR Photo Album.

Video of NEFAR’s October, 2014, Launch

NEFAR's October LaunchI’ve uploaded a video of NEFAR’s October launch to YouTube. I flew a DJI PLantom 2 Vision quadcopter to capture the event from an aerial perspective.

The video below shows low- and high-power rocket launches as seen from above as the helicopter flew at up to 400 feet in altitude.

ROCK’s September Launch Video

SAMSUNG CSCTurnout for ROCK’s September launch was low, but everyone had a terrific time. It was hot, but the light wind kept the rockets landing in the field.

The video below was taken using a DJI Phantom 2 Vision helicopter flying above the launch site.

Rockets Gone Wild

Sugar Motor Drag RaceSometimes things go wrong. Sometimes things go really wrong. Really.

The video below is a collection is a “blooper reel” of highlights from local Central Florida rocket club launches.

Because of our safety codes, none of these events resulted in any injury to people (other than egos) or property (other than a few rockets).

Quadcopter Video of the August, 2014, NEFAR Launch

August 2014 NEFAR LaunchThe video below is from the August, 9, 2014, NEFAR rocket launch. Taken with a quadcopter, the video captures the model rocket and high-power rocket launches from the air. Look for the model rocket producing a smoke ring when its ejection charge fires about half-way into the video.
